Moth Night at Boiling Springs State Park

Sat, July 24, 2021 - Sun, July 25, 2021
9:00 pm - 1:00 am

Moths are important pollinators that are often overlooked because most of them are only active overnight. The state of Oklahoma has more than 1600 species of moths and they vary in size from microscopic to larger than your hand!

We will be meeting at the pavilion south of the road south of Shaul Lake. We will have several lights and sheets setup from sunset until 1 am. Knowledgeable volunteers will be present to help identify moths and other insects that come to our sheets. We will also have a table with information on moths, including field guides and some large mounted moths. Come and learn about the incredible diversity of native moths in Oklahoma!
