Learn how to find the right native plants for your landscape, strategies to design a space that is functional as well as beautiful year-round, and a season-by-season guide on management to keep pollinators and neighbors happy. We will cover a plethora of resources and specific plants, construct a sample plan, and explore successful examples of urban lawn-to-prairie conversions that avoid city weed control. In addition, local landscape architect, Connie Scothorn will be on-hand signing copies of her new book, Oklahoma Plants: A Guide to Designing Landscapes to Attract Birds & Butterflies.

Speaker Spotlight
Benjamin Vogt is the owner of the prairie-inspired design firm Monarch Gardens and for five years wrote an award-winning column for Houzz that had over 3 million readers. He has a Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska and is the author of A New Garden Ethic: Cultivating Defiant Compassion for an Uncertain Future. He speaks nationally on sustainable landscape design and environmental philosophy. Benjamin is an Oklahoma native now living in Lincoln, Nebraska with his wife and son.
